Fashion Forward Movies

Who doesn’t love to relax on the couch with a snack, and watch a good movie? Some of us who are very fashion conscious will pay close attention to the sartorial choices of the characters in the movie. We may even pick up some inspiration from their outfits. What are some good movies that showcase great style? Well let’s find out!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s
This is a classic! If you have yet to see this Audrey Hepburn flick, what are you doing reading this? Young girls today still love to quote and dress up as Hepburn’s character from the movie. And those sunglasses, who could forget?

Quantum of Solace
This Bond flick stars the newest Bond actor, Daniel Craig. It seems that he can make any suit look good. This is a film for guys obsessed with suits, and action.

The Devil Wears Prada
This is a great movie for guys and girls alike. It’s witty, and Meryl Streep is always a great actress to watch. The film is all about the fashion industry, so you are sure to see some fashion-forward looks.

Workout Gear for Guys

You want to get in shape and look amazing. Maybe you are doing it to impress others, or maybe you want to do it just for yourself. Either way, you will need the proper gear to get started. You can’t workout in cargo shorts and flip flops, it’s just not safe (or fashionable!).  A few of the basics you need are sneakers, pants/shorts, shirt, and jacket (if it’s cold). Then you will want a gym bag to put it all in.

The thing about sneakers, is that they’re not all made equal. A pair of converse may not be so great for running. And a pair of running shoes may not be best for weight lifting. You need to pick shoes that will match the type of activity you plan to do.

Whether it’s hot or cold, or you’re working inside or outside, you’re going to need pants.

Wearing a cotton t shirt is fine for working out. But shirts made for athletics will help your skin breath better and prevent tons of sweat stains.

Stylish Stars of the NBA

Basketball players don’t show off their best stuff solely on the court, they make sure to bring their A-game to their off-court outfits. It’s important for basketball stars to become their own brand. Many are following in the footsteps of past superstars like Michael Jordan who pretty much created the branded footwear and sportswear line that many current athletes aspire to. Not all of these athletes will get the chance to design and sell a shoe with their name on it, but a few of them will. Those who perform well both on the court, and know how to cultivate their brand off court are the ones who seem to have the biggest fans and audience.

I’m going to take you through some well known, and not so well known, basketball players who exude style and are doing their best to look great on and off the court.

Stylish Halloween Costumes for Men

October means one thing….Halloween! You have almost a month to plan out the perfect costume. But many of us end up leaving the decision to the last minute. You rush to the store and try to find something, only to find everyone else in town is there snatching up the last good costumes. It can be tough to find a last minute outfit for that Halloween party you have been waiting for. So plan ahead to ensure you stand out!

James Bond
The archetype of cool. James Bond is a simple costume, but make sure you get it just right, otherwise you will keep getting asked “So…what are you supposed to be?”.

Patrick Bateman, American Psycho
Christian Bale did an excellent job in this creepy thriller. If you have the hair for the look, you can totally pull this off. Or maybe try for the clear plastic suit and an axe, nobody will question who you are.

The Royal Tenenbaums
Nothing is easier than this costume. All you need is a tan suit, and a headband!

Walter White, Breaking Bad
If you loved the Breaking Bad series as much as I did, you won’t want to be any other character for Halloween than chemistry teacher turned drug pin Walter White. Throw on some glasses, get that goatee looking proper, and have that infamous Heisenberg hat.

Indiana Jones
This explorer’s look isn’t too hard to pull off. Just make sure you have that iconic hat.

Waldo, Where’s Waldo
This is an easy last minute costume you can throw together if you happen to have blue pants and a red and white striped shirt. Throw glasses and a beanie on and you’re good to go.

Men’s Fashion Instagram Accounts

We’re finally on Instagram! I know it took us a while to jump on the Insta-train, but we’re here and we’re loving it. We’re getting tons of feedback and interaction, and in turn we’re getting inspired by all the great photos. We’ve looked high and low for trendy accounts related to suits, accessories, shoes, grooming, and men’s fashion in general. Here’s some accounts we think you should be following.

Obviously that’s us! We’re just getting started but plenty of content is on the way since we’re posting daily. We have our own custom suits, Fratelli Rossetti shoes, men’s style quotes, and lots more.

This guy has a killer sense of style. He runs the site and writes for a lifestyle magazine in Italy.

Mr Porter Live
This company comes from the Net A Porter Group. They offer premier clothing for men as well as shoes, accessories, and grooming. They post fashion as well as lifestyle photos.

Adam Gallagher is well known in the men’s fashion circle. It’s no surprise that he has nearly 1.5 million subscribers. He posts amazing photos of his outfits as well as personal photos of himself traveling the world.

Men’s Fashion Myths (are they fact or fiction?)

Who doesn’t love figuring out whether a popular myth is fact or fiction? We’re always amazed when a long-held belief turns out to be false. How could it be!? How do these myths get so popular so as to become quasi-fact? Attire Club has done the work for us! They have taken a handful of common men’s fashion myths, researched, and figured out whether they’re fact or fiction. Let’s give you a test question: Does black make you look thinner? What do you think? Check out the article to see if you’re right.

Here’s another myth that Attire Club debunks:

Myth #4: Your tie should not match your pocket square

Answer: Fact
If you are wearing a tie and wish to add a pocket square as well, the rule is that the pocket square should not match your tie in fabric and shape. Therefore, if you are wearing a red cotton tie, you can match it for example with a dotted green silk pocket square. The reasoning behind the rule is that a pocket square should compliment your tie. There is no point in adding two accessories of the same type twice.

However, there are people who break this rule and look great doing it. Style expert Tim Gunn often wears matching ties and pocket squares, which gives him an old-timey vibe. Back in the day, your tie needed to match your pocket square, so wearing matching pieces is always going to be a reference to the past.
